I can’t count how many times I’ve heard people say, “God is good. All the time. And all the time God is good.” It’s usually echoed by folks in religious circles. Some folks mean these words when they say them. But sadly they are spoken by fornicators, murderers, gossipers, slanderers, thieves, pedophiles, drunkards, witches, wizards, etcetera. (1 Corinthians 6:9-11) You see, there are those who think you can get good from evil. Who put darkness for light and light for darkness. Like some who talk about their relationships and how they were mistreated by their partner(s). Yes, what the other person did to them was evil as far as we can tell. But wait, sometimes they forget to mention they were in a fornication relationship. Doesn’t God (who is good) say fornication is evil? (Hebrews 13:4 Revelation 21:8) So how can anyone engaged in fornication expect good to come from doing what is bad? Having sex without marriage and believing everything will go well is like drinking poison and expecting to cure a cold. This is one of the reasons why there is so much heartache. The Devil has deluded us. We cannot get good from doing what is evil. It never works.

The so-called love songs we listen to and the movies tell us fornication will work out fine. We are bombarded with these. Satan has seen to that. So we choose to believe it. We jump off the cliff, take a deep dive into the fake ocean of love (or lust or sin), and expect not to hit rock bottom. Then when we’re all busted up and heartbroken we cry, “They did me dirty.” When the truth is you did yourself dirty by participating in a demonic relationship you knew was wrong. We wonna swim with sharks but don’t expect to get bit or eaten.😳 🦈 How delusional. God put it this way:

Proverbs 6:27 ESV “Can a man carry fire next to his chest and his clothes not be burned?”

How can anyone get what is good by going against God who is good?

When you’re fornicating you’re swimming with the sharks podnah! And I’m not only talking about your sex partners, I’m talking about evil spirits and demons. 

1 Corinthians 6:15-20 LEB “Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Therefore, shall I take away the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? May it never be! ¹⁶ Or do you not know that the one who joins himself to a prostitute is one body with her? For it says, “The two will become one flesh.” ¹⁷ But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with him. ¹⁸ FLEE SEXUAL IMMORALITY. Every sin that a person commits is outside his body, but the one who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. ¹⁹ Or do you not know that YOUR BODY IS THE TEMPLE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? ²⁰ For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God with your body.”

I’m guilty of sinning this way in the past too. And expected good would come from it. How misled I was. That’s why I speak about it. I renounce the spirit of fornication in Jesus’ name! It’s a dark, ugly, wicked, selfish spirit. This spirit blinds you and binds you. It’s not until you repent from it you can see just how deluded you were. Let’s confess our sins to God. (Proverbs 28:13) Let’s take responsibility for our wrong decisions and repent. Start there first. Let’s stop blaming other people for what we allowed them to do to us. Sharks can only behave like sharks. We were used and abused because you and I put ourselves in that predicament. Let us praise God that by His grace we survived the shark attacks. And lived to tell about it!😳 🦈 If we do this, we really believe, “God is good.” Let us rejoice and show appreciation for His great mercy! (Psalm 103:8-14)

May we stop expecting great results from doing what is evil. It will never work. If we believe God is good we will stop this madness. How can anyone get what is good by going against God who is good? God is good, yes. He is also a righteous judge. And that too is good:

Galatians 6:7 LEB “Do not be deceived: God is not to be mocked, for whatever a person sows, this he will also reap.”

Hebrews 13:4 CSB “Marriage is to be honored by all and the marriage bed kept undefiled, because God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.”
