Luke 12:51-53 KJV “Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: [52] For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. [53] The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.”
Jesus foretold there would be a parting of ways between the closest individuals. His teachings would be the cause for this. Hence it is He who is doing the separating. Sheep agree with Jesus and follow His teachings. Goats disagree with Jesus’ teachings and refuse to repent. Religious goats pretend to follow Jesus but only obey their lusts. Fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives etcetera are all affected by the mighty words of God.
“THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE”
Sometimes the truth frees us from bad influences we’re not aware of. These may be close relatives. How difficult it can be to see the evil in someone you love?🤔 But as you hold tightly to the word of God the truth about ourselves and others becomes manifest. That’s just how powerful God’s word is:
Hebrews 4:12 NKJV “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
If you love God and believe in His word what He says will be first in our lives. Others (goats) put their feelings first. These different views cause divisions between kinfolks. (Amos 3:3) But make no mistake about it, Jesus Christ Himself is doing the dividing. When you follow God hatred will come at you from all directions:
Matthew 10:21-23 NLT “A brother will betray his brother to death, a father will betray his own child, and children will rebel against their parents and cause them to be killed. And ALL NATIONS WILL HATE YOU because you are my followers. BUT EVERYONE WHO ENDURES TO THE END WILL BE SAVED. When you are persecuted in one town, flee to the next. I tell you the truth, the Son of Man will return before you have reached all the towns of Israel.”
Jesus says this is a matter of life and death. Family ties are not spared. Remember this when the Lord separates you from those who dishonor Him. Remember this when you are persecuted even by those you love. Many who claim to serve Christ will be followers of their own lusts the Bible says. (Romans 16:17-18) If we are His true sheep Jesus will separate us from all goats one way or the other. Though this may be painful it’s what the good Shepard does to protect His sheep.😊
We want our needs met and our fun toys. The only problem is we want them the wrong way. Our sin nature causes this. We think having a surplus will secure our future. How often have things been destroyed in tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, bankruptcy, thefts, etcetera?🤔 Piling up stuff is no guarantee we will have what we need down the road. But seeking FIRST God’s kingdom is. 😊 It is God who promises, “And all these things shall be added to you.”
Seeking FIRST the kingdom takes real faith. It means putting one’s personal pleasures, goals, and dreams aside to seek what God wants for us. You have to really love God to do this.😊 Seeking FIRST the kingdom is opposite this world’s thinking. The world says, “Live your best life now.” That doesn’t sound sinful, right? Wrong. What false prophets and others mean when they say this is build your own kingdom here on earth (now) and call it God’s kingdom. People are hoodwinked into believing they can follow their own desires and what God wants without sacrificing anything. (Luke 9:23) They’re in rebellion against God because they live selfishly. Getting wealth and more money is their #1 goal. (1 Timothy 6:9-10) Even if we succeed at obtaining worldly riches we still have a major problem: DEATH. None of us will elude death. Jesus spoke to the crowds concerning this:
Luke 12:16-21 NKJV “Then He spoke a parable to them, saying: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully. And he thought within himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?’ So he said, ‘I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods. And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.” ’ But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’ “So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.””
The rich man died suddenly. Everything he owned and worked so hard for was worth nothing instantly. He thought he had years to kick back, relax, and enjoy his wealth. But God said, “Fool! This night your soul will be required of you.”😳 Worldly riches are so elusive.
THE AMERICAN DREAM OR NIGHTMARE?🤔
The so-called, “American Dream,” is nothing new. Jesus’ passage above shows people have always sought to accumulate wealth in the hopes that one day they can retire; kick back, relax and live in the lap of luxury. But there’s still that one major problem: DEATH. What happens when a person dies? Many rich people fear death. Of course they pretend not to when they are strong and healthy. God called the rich man a fool. Why? Because not only was he unable to enjoy his wealth for years like he thought he would (others would get it), he also was not rich toward God. His death would turn into his worse nightmare just like this next rich fool:
Luke 16:19-31 ERV “Jesus said, “There was a rich man who always dressed in the finest clothes. He was so rich that he was able to enjoy all the best things every day. There was also a very poor man named Lazarus. Lazarus’ body was covered with sores. He was often put by the rich man’s gate. Lazarus wanted only to eat the scraps of food left on the floor under the rich man’s table. And the dogs came and licked his sores. “Later, Lazarus died. The angels took him and placed him in the arms of Abraham. The rich man also died and was buried. He was sent to the place of death and was in great pain. He saw Abraham far away with Lazarus in his arms. He called, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me! Send Lazarus to me so that he can dip his finger in water and cool my tongue. I am suffering in this fire!’ “But Abraham said, ‘My child, remember when you lived? You had all the good things in life. But Lazarus had nothing but problems. Now he is comforted here, and you are suffering. Also, there is a big pit between you and us. No one can cross over to help you, and no one can come here from there.’ “The rich man said, ‘Then please, father Abraham, send Lazarus to my father’s house on earth. I have five brothers. He could warn my brothers so that they will not come to this place of pain.’ “But Abraham said, ‘They have the Law of Moses and the writings of the prophets to read; let them learn from that.’ “The rich man said, ‘No, father Abraham! But if someone came to them from the dead, then they would decide to change their lives.’ “But Abraham said to him, ‘If your brothers won’t listen to Moses and the prophets, they won’t listen to someone who comes back from the dead.’””
This rich guy too found out the hard way there is a severe price to pay for not being rich toward God. I encourage all my brethren, myself, and everyone to seek God’s kingdom FIRST, not worldly riches, not your own kingdom here on earth, and not the kingdoms of this world:
1 John 2:17 ERV “The world is passing away, and all the things that people want in the world are passing away. But whoever does what God wants will live forever.”
2 Peter 3:13 NLT “But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world filled with God’s righteousness.”
James 5:1-6 NLT “Look here, you rich people: Weep and groan with anguish because of all the terrible troubles ahead of you. Your wealth is rotting away, and your fine clothes are moth-eaten rags. Your gold and silver are corroded. The very wealth you were counting on will eat away your flesh like fire. This corroded treasure you have hoarded will testify against you on the day of judgment. For listen! Hear the cries of the field workers whom you have cheated of their pay. The cries of those who harvest your fields have reached the ears of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. You have spent your years on earth in luxury, satisfying your every desire. You have fattened yourselves for the day of slaughter. You have condemned and killed innocent people, who do not resist you.”
Acts 16:16-18 KJV “And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: [17] The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. [18] And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.”
Paul was a man filled with the Holy Spirit. This is why he became grieved in his spirit by the woman who followed Him and Silas with flattery. Paul knew the scripture that says:
Proverbs 29:5 KJV “A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.”🕸
Paul perceived it wasn’t just the woman speaking to him but an evil spirit posing to love the truth. In the name of Jesus Paul got rid of that spirit. Through this witch the spirit seemed to be praising Paul’s and Silas’ ministry? For many days she followed them yelling, “These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.” Sounds like someone who loves the truth, right? Wrong. She was just flattering Paul and Silas and spreading a net for their feet.🕸 Do you see how tricky demons and witches can be?😳
Just because someone praises you or appears to be on your side doesn’t mean they are. Often they are simply flattering you to get you to lower your guard. Again Proverbs 29:5 says, “A man [or woman] that FLATTERETH his neighbour SPREADETH A NET for his feet.” They are setting you up. It’s a trap!🕸
Just because someone gives you money or buys you nice things doesn’t mean they are your friend or even like you.
ALL FORETOLD BY GOD
Daniel 11:33-34 KJV “And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days. [34] Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall CLEAVE TO THEM WITH FLATTERIES.”
God foretold in the last days some of us would experience the same kinds of persecutions and treachery as Paul and Silas. While experiencing such persecutions we will receive a little help. But not all who help us will be sincere. “Many shall cleave to them [cling to us] with flatteries,” God said. They will have all kinds of ulterior motives for helping us.
Daniel 11:33-34 is talking about those who are busy in the work of instructing many about God through Jesus Christ. This is the same work Paul and Silas was involved in. It is no wonder then that they are attacked by the same evil spirit; “a spirit of divination,” or witchcraft. This is a very tricky spirit. He operates in many like the woman who followed Paul and Silas. He knows how to sound religious just like the soothsaying witch. We must be on guard.
THE GIFT-GIVING WITCH/WIZARD
I once knew a woman who turned out to be a witch that bought me 2 laptops. One was a MacBook Pro. She also bought me an iPad and an iPhone, all of this in the span of about a month. These Apple products were the latest and greatest fresh out of the Apple store. I thought she loved me. Hah hah hah, no friends, she knew what I liked. When someone buys you nice things it’s easy to think they like you or even love you, right?🤔 No my dear brothers and sisters this is so wrong. Oftentimes they are simply gaining a foothold over our soul through flattery. They are spreading nets for our feet.🕸
Proverbs 20:21 KJV “An inheritance may be gotten hastily at the beginning; but the end thereof shall not be blessed.”
How often does receiving nice gifts end in heartache, or worse? The above scripture applies to me as the relationship I had with that woman turned out disastrous! It costed me more financially than the gifts she gave me in the beginning. And more importantly it hurt me spiritually which could have caused my ruin.😳 It was all flattery; a trap. Just like the soothsayer that followed Paul and Silas she knew how to sound religious, like she loved the Lord. And was only laying a noose for my feet.🕸 Thank God for rescuing me from that relationship!😊 Now I know I was really battling an evil spirit; a he, not a she.😳
I will say it again: just because someone gives you money or buys you nice things doesn’t mean they are your friend or even like you. Some will go to those lengths to ensnare you. They will spare no expense. You are an obsession to them, a challenge. Ensnaring your soul is a game and they will stop at nothing to win! I know, sometimes it’s hard to believe people can be that evil. Saddening it is.😪
Whenever someone flatters you an alarm clock should go off in our heads because of what Proverbs 29:5 says about it; it’s a trap. But if we are greedy for gifts, money, and desire praise from men we are cooked. Be careful of those who flatter you with their lips and give expensive gifts, even money. Ask God for discernment to see who the people really are that you’ve let into your life or are thinking about drawing close to. It may very well be that a trap is being laid for our feet as we speak. And remember, GOD SAYS have nothing to do with flatterers! Obey Him and be safe.😊 He is the one who truly provides our needs. Trust Him. Don’t depend on man (or woman).
If you come to find you are in such a trap pray to God to get set free. Confess to Him any sin He reveals you may have committed that contributed to your being ensnared, and repent. God will forgive a contrite, sincere, repentant heart. (Psalm 51:17)😊
Proverbs 20:19 KJV “He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore MEDDLE NOT with him that flattereth with his lips.”
James 3:14-16 NIV “But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. [15] Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. [16] For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.”
“Bitter envy,” is a slow, silent, killer. A person can harbor resentment towards another for years without them knowing it. Then suddenly resentment springs up! It rears it’s ugly head through vicious attacks! Often the victims never saw it coming. But the persons displaying such hostility is even more of a victim. He/she has been overcome by the evil one. Repentance is a must.
“Bitter envy,” (resentment) the Bible says is demonic. To harbor this spirit is to harbor a demon.😳 This evil spirit has creeped up on and inside of many professing Christians. How? Because they refuse to obey one of Jesus’ basic commands:
FORGIVENESS
Matthew 6:14-15 ESV “For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
When you refuse to forgive others the evil spirit of bitter envy takes over. The door is wide open to be possessed by this demon and others. Demons operate in gangs. (Luke 11:24-26) The sad thing is this happens to people without them realizing it. It can happen to any of us. Some have been deceived into thinking they have a good relationship with God while harboring resentment towards brothers and sisters. (Matthew 5:21-24) What a deception!
1 John 2:9-11 KJV “He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.”
Forgiveness is at the heart of the teachings of Jesus Christ. How can you be a Christian and be unforgiving? If this is you, if this is me, we need to repent, and get this demon out of our lives. Then we will experience the refreshing joy of forgiveness in Jesus Christ.😊 The same joy and forgiveness He wants us to extend to others.
Obeying Jesus’ teaching to forgive keeps us free from the influence of the wicked one. Satan will try to get us to hold grudges. But consider this; no matter what anyone does to us, is it worth losing our souls?🤔 There’s no need to harm ourselves by inviting the evil spirit of, “bitter envy,” into our lives. Forgive as Jesus commands. Don’t fall for the Devil’s trick.
Romans 10:3-4 NLT “For they don’t understand God’s way of making people right with himself. Refusing to accept God’s way, they cling to their own way of getting right with God by trying to keep the law. For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.”
There are many who say they have a close relationship with God. They testify to how good God has been to them and how He has helped them on many occasions. But are we so close to God that we don’t have to study His word? (2 Timothy 2:15) Some think so. I just spoke with a man who claimed to have a close relationship with God and says the Bible was written by men. “You can take the Bible and make it say whatever you want it to,” he said with a smug face. If this man really had a close relationship with God he would agree with this next passage:
2 Timothy 3:16-17 NLT “ALL SCRIPTURE IS INSPIRED BY GOD,” and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.”
“All Scripture is inspired by God,” from Genesis to Revelation. Scripture is used to show us what is true and what is wrong in our lives so we can repent. Scripture is also used by God to prepare His children for every good work. Many like the man I mentioned who refuse to study the Bible cannot reap these benefits since they don’t trust God’s word.
The man also boasted to me about the good things he does and put others down in the same breath. He also said people who have done good and made the right decisions all their lives deserve to go to heaven more than others. Do you see what’s wrong with this man?🤔 He is self-righteous. He is puffed up with pride. He has established a righteousness of his own based on good works, not the righteousness God requires. MANY think this way. They erroneously believe their good deeds will earn them heaven. (Matthew 7:21-23) The Bible says being made right with God and inheriting eternal life are FREE GIFTS from God. And God doesn’t owe this to anyone. (Romans 6:23)
Ephesians 2:8-9 ESV “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
Anyone who believes that heaven or a right standing with God can be earned by how good they are is in error. Every time I hear this I’m reminded of this next passage:
Luke 18:9-14 NLT “Then Jesus told this story to some who had great confidence in their own righteousness and scorned everyone else: “Two men went to the Temple to pray. One was a Pharisee, and the other was a despised tax collector. The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed this prayer: ‘I thank you, God, that I am not like other people—cheaters, sinners, adulterers. I’m certainly not like that tax collector! I fast twice a week, and I give you a tenth of my income.’ “But the tax collector stood at a distance and dared not even lift his eyes to heaven as he prayed. Instead, he beat his chest in sorrow, saying, ‘O God, be merciful to me, for I am a sinner.’ I tell you, this sinner, not the Pharisee, returned home justified before God. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”
With it you can sell anything. With it you can rule nations. You can influence masses all over the world to believe any lie. Just repeat anything on TV and people will assume it’s true. Quite powerful hypnosis it is, nearly irresistible. I wonder what would happen if all the TVs in the world were turned off?😳 Would people start thinking for themselves and figure out all the lies they’ve been told?🤔
What else can perform such powerful magic? What else can bring evil spirits right into your home regularly, undetected? What else can make you see visions (motion pictures), hear words and music that induce you into a trance, at will? No wonder television networks are called, “Channels,” as they are mediums for channeling. No wonder TV shows are called, “Programs,” as they are programming you.
If I was the Devil I would control every TV station in the world. How would I do it? By directly controlling a few major media companies who in turn control all the others. Hence I could fill the whole world with my propaganda. Interestingly there’s only 6 major media companies that control ALL American media.😳 In the 1980s that number was around 50. You think the Devil hasn’t thought of this wickedly brilliant idea?🤔
TELL-A-VISION
Television programs folks to commit murder, fornication, hatred, bigotry, lust, adultery, pride, war, callousness, divorce, selfishness, disrespect for parents, neglect of children, etcetera, all the evil stuff the Devil likes. If you want a plate of fear all you have to do is turn on the news. If you want a dose of adultery and fornication just turn on the TV period. Wonna know how to murder someone and get away with it? TV teaches you that too. You can definitely get your fill of evil by just turning on the tube. I bet Satan was so happy when television was created.
“Television,” what an interesting name that is (Tell-a-vision), hmmmmm.🤔 Is Satan, “Telling us visions,” through TV? Are Satan’s minions (TV Producers and creators) filling our hearts and minds with visions from the Devil? “Tell-a-vision,” wow! What an appropriate name for this dark, twisted medium that tells visions from Satan.🤔 TV is the ultimate sorcerer’s tool. Better than a ouija board.
When it comes to TV channels and programs I believe the below scriptures apply:
Amos 5:14 KJV “Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the Lord, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken.”
Psalm 101:3 KJV “I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.”
Genesis 1:27 NKJV “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”

Can you imagine what it was like living in Noah’s day? The angelic sons of God were producing their own hybrid offspring with the daughters of men. (Genesis 6:2,4) Yes, angels (aliens) mating with earth women. Sounds like something right out of a science fiction movie, right? But this event took place thousands of years before Hollywood. This new breed of people were violent, brute, tyrants who were the great ones in the earth, the men of renown. (Genesis 6:4) Their wickedness was so bad that God decided to wipe them all out in the flood. Noah and his family (only 8 people) were spared.😳
The Bible says Noah walked with God and was perfect in his generation. (Genesis 6:9) Noah was an upright man who was morally sound. In fact the same Hebrew word for “Perfect” describing Noah in Genesis 6:9 is the same word that is used to describe animal sacrifices offered to God without a spot or blemish. This Hebrew word is also used to describe how pure God’s word is. Ultimate purity is the gist here. Noah was not only pure spiritually, he was also pure physically, pure inside out. There was no defilement in Noah’s body or spirit. He had no hybrid DNA, no demon blood. Noah was all human.🤔
WHAT IF ……?
You think wicked angels can do this again? (Ecclesiastes 1:9-10) Do you think they can tap into the human genome and alter the human race like they did in Noah’s day? Have scientists invented technology that changes human DNA? Yes, they say they have. One such technology is called CRISPR. The inventors (two women) won The Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2020 for their achievement. They say editing human DNA is as simple as Cut, Copy, and Paste. Of course they say the technology can be used for noble purposes like curing diseases, etcetera. But what if someone uses this tech with evil intent? What if instead of curing disease it somehow causes disease? Yah think there are some mad scientists out there?🤔 Or what if the unthinkable happens by accident? Should we be editing our (God created) DNA anyway? What if this comes back to bite us and strips us of our humanity?😳 What if one day all the real humans are gone except for a few? Except for a few Noahs? (Matthew 7:13-14)
Daniel 2:43 KJV “And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, THEY shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.”
Daniel 2:43 speaks concerning the last super kingdom to appear on earth in the final days. Who are, “THEY,” here that is mingling themselves with the seed or offspring of mankind? Hmmmmmm.🤔 Is Noah’s day happening all over again? (Matthew 24:37-41)
The Holy Spirit asks the question, ‘Why should you die BEFORE your time?’ which can result from being very wicked or living foolishly. Still folks say you can throw caution to the wind when it comes to protecting your life because, “God already knows our time. It’s already written.” This reminds me of a guy I knew who said he was a Christian and was toying with the idea of fornicating with a woman who also claimed to be a Christian. I encouraged and warned him from the scriptures to flee from fornication. His response was, “God already knows what we’re gonna do before we even do it. It’s already written!” Then he immediately walked away from me yelling, “That’s religion! You need to get with the spirit brother!”😳 Basically he said he could throw caution to the wind and do whatever he wants since God has already written it. In other words God wrote all of his actions in advance including preordaining him to sin, so he’s not guilty.😳 What a wicked charge to bring against God! (James 1:13-16) What a slick way to ease one’s conscience to live in sin.😓 (Romans 2:15)
I’ve been hearing this same line of reasoning when it comes to making certain life and death choices today, even when it comes to whether or not to get the shot. I hear people say things like, “It doesn’t matter what I choose to do, God has already written it. When it’s your time it’s your time. He already knows how we’re gonna die. So it doesn’t matter what choice I make.” Here again; ‘I can do whatever I want, if I die in the process, so what? It’s already written, by God.’😳 If that were true why would God give us freedom to choose? And why would He encourage us to choose life?
Deuteronomy 30:19 KJV “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.”
Why would God encourage us to CHOOSE LIFE over death, obedience over disobedience, blessings over curses if He is controlling our every move?🤔 That would make Him a retarded God. This false reasoning is a poor excuse to silence a guilty conscience. It makes it easier for one to sin. Just blame everything on God, “He did it, it was already written, how could I resist?”🤔 How terrible to charge God with evil instead of confessing, renouncing, and forsaking our sins. (Proverbs 28:13) Please repent if you think like this. It’s a trick from the Devil. This line of thinking has horrific consequences. (2 Corinthians 10:4-5)
John 6:51 NKJV “I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.””
John 6:53-66 HCSB “So Jesus said to them, “I assure you: Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you do not have life in yourselves. Anyone who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day, because My flesh is real food and My blood is real drink. The one who eats My flesh and drinks My blood lives in Me, and I in him. Just as the living Father sent Me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on Me will live because of Me. This is the bread that came down from heaven; it is not like the manna your fathers ate — and they died. THE ONE WHO EATS THIS BREAD WILL LIVE FOREVER.” He said these things while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum. Therefore, when many of His disciples heard this, they said, “This teaching is hard! Who can accept it?” Jesus, knowing in Himself that His disciples were complaining about this, asked them, “Does this offend you? Then what if you were to observe the Son of Man ascending to where He was before? The Spirit is the One who gives life. The flesh doesn’t help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life. But there are some among you who don’t believe.” (For Jesus knew from the beginning those who would not believe and the one who would betray Him.) He said, “This is why I told you that no one can come to Me unless it is granted to him by the Father.” From that moment many of His disciples turned back and no longer accompanied Him.”
Why would Jesus say this knowing that people would stop following Him? Because Jesus wasn’t interested in followers. He was (and still is) interested in true worshippers:
John 4:23-24 KJV “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. [24] God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”
False worshippers have a tendency to get offended and find fault if they don’t immediately understand something. They wait for you to say or do anything so they can say, “Aha! We got you now! See, he/she is phony! We told you!” True worshippers are more patient, they peer into things and don’t usually make snap judgments. They are the ones that later learned and understood what Jesus meant when He said, ‘Eat my flesh and drink my blood.’
If you are a true worshipper don’t be surprised when people treat you the same way they treated Jesus. (Matthew 10:24-25) Some will quickly find fault with whatever you do or say. Many of these will be false believers. Embrace this treatment as a good soldier of Christ.😊 (2 Timothy 2:3) What an honor and a privilege it is to share in the sufferings of Jesus!😊
